FOR THIS build, I TOUCHED, I SAW.
I LOVE IT.
IT'S 2019, ONE YEAR BEFORE THE PANDEMIC, and I FOUND THIS VERY WELL PRESERVED B2200 PARKED in MY NEIGHBOUR'S CAR PORT.
I CAN'T TELL IF IT WAS THE TIME, THE COLOUR, THE HOUSE OR THE WEATHER, but everything THERE AND then was just right.
NO RUBBING, NO SCRAPPING, EASY TO SERVICE.
tHE BUILD takes FORM...
ESSENTIALLY, A BODY ON FRAME CONSTRUCTION.
I WANTED TO TRY SOMETHING NEW TO ME AND MAINTAIN THE ORIGINAL CHASSIS STYLE.
NO MORE NASCAR-TYPE TUBE FRAMES BUT JUST A SIMPLE LADDER FRAME.
truly basic and EASIER TO WORK WITH IN SOME WAYS, plus, including a somewhat functional truck bed was core to the principles of this build so the original ladder frame type chassis really helped resolve the final shape and proportions.

the silhouette always plays a key role in my approach to design. but more importantly, realism.
the ability to relate and connect to a build is always different and unexpected.
it was important to maintain a sense of raw/garage/homemade labour.
my connection to this car, specifically on this instance, is closer to building a rat-rod on the weekends more than creating a full out race car.
this is technically my third version of the b2200.
back in 2020, my relation to this model was more in tune with a clean and cut showroom concept.

of course, time goes on, change and growth is inevitable. and today I thought, this would be an amazing weekend project.
