It's Midnight. From a distance, a shiny reflective object approaches. A literal machine morphs shapes and achieves speed.. nothing can keep up. At a time were blob shaped cars were taking over the city like aimless bodies in space, my first sight, the C4 was on TV, I thought, at least one UFO has name now. So iconic of a time yet timeless, through this project I revise my memory and alter the outcome. This is how I would picture an old spaceship in today's day and age.
The shape is very iconic and it was always synonym to speed. It's proportions were even more spectacular in person as the car it self is not as large as it seems to be.
With new technology available to us in this present, this pursuit for speed started with the powertrain. The progressive sound of AC propulsion completely gives to the idea of a ship in space. In this case, a Tesla Performance Drive Unit is mounted-in replacing the original combustion engine. The chassis is reinforced and modified to fit the new Lithium-Ion battery packs on the floor and cage for protection. The body has also been reworked to fit the wider stance and simplified. In the back, the rear bumper has been deleted and the entire rear section is welded as a solid piece to complement the body line with negative space. Custom rear lights are added as a nod to the analog nature of the original car. With stealth and aggression in mind, this ship is stripped from any cabin comforts as it's sole purpose.. is pursuit. You won’t see nor hear this coming. Finished in coated stainless steel and CustomSpec ROC-H Rotiforms.
Back in the day, I never had the chance to actually see one in person but After moving out of country, I finally encountered this machine and it was all I ever thought
it would be.
